MEET LAUREN

How do we want childhood to feel?

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I’m a mom to two young boys, a guide within a nature-based, project-based learning community, and the founder of Havenwood Learning.

Like many parents, I wanted our days to feel meaningful, but I found myself constantly searching for ideas, planning activities, and wondering if I was doing enough. I wanted our days to feel intentional without spending hours figuring out what to do next.

Around that same time, I was watching children learn deeply through nature, projects, conversation, meaningful work, and experiences that met them where they were. I began to see that learning did not need to look impressive to be meaningful.

I kept thinking there had to be something between creating everything from scratch and buying a full curriculum. Enough guidance for a parent to feel supported, with enough openness for curiosity, conversation, and family life to unfold naturally.

Havenwood grew from that idea. Each weekly rhythm is thoughtfully shaped to reduce decision fatigue, create more room for curiosity and connection, and help families create the kind of childhood they’ll want to remember.

Children may not remember which workbook they used. They will remember how home felt.

A few simple questions

Havenwood is designed to feel calm, flexible, and easy to begin.

What is included in a Havenwood rhythm?

Each Havenwood rhythm includes three connected days of experiences. You can move through the full rhythm or follow the parts that fit your family best.

Who is this for?

Havenwood is designed for families with children in the preschool and early-elementary years who want calmer, more meaningful weeks together.

Some families use Havenwood on its own during the early years. Others use it alongside preschool, homeschool curriculum, or the learning resources they already love.

What ages is this for?

Havenwood was created with children in the preschool and early-elementary years in mind.

Because every child develops differently, the experiences are intentionally open-ended and can be adapted to different ages, interests, and stages. Siblings can often enjoy the same rhythm together, each in their own way.

Does Havenwood include religious content?

Havenwood is designed for families from a wide range of backgrounds and does not include faith-specific instruction, so families can use it in a way that fits their own home.

Is this a full curriculum?

No, and that is intentional. Havenwood is not a boxed curriculum. It is a ready-to-use weekly rhythm built around hands-on exploration, nature, conversation, meaningful work, and everyday moments of connection.

Many families use Havenwood on its own during the early years. Others pair it with phonics, math, handwriting, preschool, or another homeschool curriculum as their children grow.

What if I’m not ready for a full curriculum?

That is exactly where Havenwood can help. It gives you a simple weekly rhythm with enough structure to begin, without the pressure of a large curriculum or a school-at-home schedule.

What makes Havenwood different?

Havenwood is not another list of activities to scroll through. Every experience has already been thoughtfully gathered into a ready-to-use weekly rhythm.

The goal is less planning, less decision fatigue, and more time to notice, wonder, and learn together.
